20m. A good combination up the steep wall; the lower pitch sees plenty of attention, the upper one less so. Climb the centre of the wall to a flake and runners, step right and climb to ledges (stance?). Climb the wall leftwards to the wide crack. Up this awkwardly to its top and a finish out right via awkward and blind moves USER COMMENTS
great route with good holds, hvs 5b
The first couple of bits of pro on roscoe's seem to have ripped off since I last did it
Very worthwhile with round table getting only a tiny fraction of the acsents it deserves. Surprising and unlikely climbing, crossing territory usually reserved for much harder routes.
Hang on all you HVS voters, the E1 grade is for Round Table not RW. How many voting
only did roscoes but was very enjoyable. the start seem,s quite hard for 5b but theres good gear halfway up and the rest is straightforward - smashing
Round table hard and scary for HVS.
Surely both routes merit separate description? Round table is worth E1, because you could hit the ground if you muff the moves before the big cam/hex.
i found the Round Table part of this (crux) quite 'interesting' - havent had a trembler for a while but was almost on the verge of one here; the appetising looking rounded flake is not so welcoming when you actually get there (the small traverse / step up on rounded holds to reach this flake felt delicate) and at that point youre at the mercy of some dubious gear which, if it was to pop, would leave you with the ledge to stop your fall - not so appealing. bring a nice big cam (size 4 i think). worth doing. |
