Adjacent Routes 10m. The wide awkward crack in the centre of the slab leads to ledges. Excellent moves (or the inferior grassy flakes just left - S) and a short tricky traverse to the left-hand flake on the upper wall and a sweet layback completes the fun. USER COMMENTS
As the crack widens, it becomes awkward to ascend (size 4 Camalot well recommended). The current Staffs guidebook directs you towards the left-hand flake for the finishing moves. The traverse left is a little difficult to protect, but once you've reached it, the moves up the flake are very enjoyable. As an easier alternative, follow the central flake to the top.
Swung into the final crack & there below me was a Wallaby - the last time I ever saw one. Anybody seen one recently? |
