My first E3 :-) Hard pocket pulling at the start leads to slopey breaks and just-adequate gear. The slabby top-half is only 'easier climbing' if you can climb slabs! I found it scary (but not sustained) climbing all the way to the top-out...
A good route, some stiff pocket pulling leads to awkwardly placed gear and a tricky upper section.
An excellent route, this! I admit slight bias, having soloed it on the first ascent. I was in a bit of a rush as I had an exam at the medical school in Sheffield in the afternoon. The line had been brushed by someone else and it looked quite feasible from Comus... |
