12m. The centre of the wall on small spaced holds to a gripping slap for the top. A Friend 1.5 is fairly crucial despite being difficult to place. USER COMMENTS
Probably worthy of E5. It would be a close call if you came off before clipping the 0.5 friend (not 1.5 as in the text above); I suspect you'd be on the way to hospital. Similar difficulty but more dangerous than the Knock at Burbage which seems to get E5 these days. A dangerous onsight!
E5 6a onsight without preplaced gear, E4 with pre-placed gear (think pre placed gear may be mentioned in the 1988 moorland guide on FA)
On sighted this yesterday and thought E5. Have no idea where you could stop and place the suggested gear. Even spotting the suggested 0.5 cam was a no go on the on sight. I have on sight soloed the knock and the hard moves are lowish. this is hardest at the top and the landing unthinkable. Giving this E4 in a guide is dangerous. I am so glad I had a grade in hand or I would have be calling mountain rescue. |
