The mantel onto the ledge is easy, the top move is desperate
Definitely gets harder as you go up , quite a route for the date. Led it when it was given severe & came away suitably impressed. Classic grit roundedness.
Contrary to some guidebook descriptions, this one can be made as safe as houses (used to be) with a good selection of cams. The last move is the crux (it alone makes this HVS) but, armed with a big Friend, it's the fear of failure, not falling, that spurs you on.
No doubt a great ascent for it's date but the climbing isn't great, it is too ledgey and too polished to be worth 3 stars. Worth doing though |
