Much confusion as to the line and grade in the upper section of this route. The line to the left of the arete takes a steep wall, is technical, & goes at 6a or 6a+. The first bolt-line right of the arete goes at about 5+ using a large flake, with 'thank god' holds. Elderly & dubious anchor at the top, although it can be backed up using a small tree!
Agree regarding the confusing line of the upper section - still not entirely sure whether I did this, pleniluni, or solstici! A hopeful step-over was required to find a previously almost invisible bolt with some steep, fairly runout climbing to the finish.
Clip the left hand line of bolts, using holds on the arete near the top - exposed, yes - route finding problems, nah.
No problem with route finding just keep to the left hand line. An exciting and exposed finish makes it a very worthwhile route. Steep for 5+ but then aren't they all in this area! |
