Adjacent Routes 8m. The face right of the arete has a tricky start. USER COMMENTS
What block?? If you start this from just left of Boot Crack, as indictated in the definitive and the topo guides, the sequence is quite technical. It is easier to start further left near the Arete.
If you follow the topo in the Stanage guidebook, the start is quite hard technically, more like 5a or 5b than 4b. Found the line as shown in CC difficult to identify.
This is given VS 4c in the definitive guide, which is probably about right. Certainly a complete sandbag at Severe 4b. At least HS IMO. Quite nice though I suppose.
No way is this severe. It is at least a grade harder, although the hard moves are low down.
Harder than muesli, HS 4b
The block that looks like it's under the route in the photo is actually 15 foot away! Fantastic. As Croxford said, this is VS in the definitive guide. From feeling the start, it's a very bold starting VS too!!
I found the starting moves pretty hard for the grade, but it is only the first moves... 4c/5a seems right |
