A winter ascent of Flat Crag Corner. steep and technically demanding. When approaching the crag via the Climbers’ Traverse, an obvious large bay in the middle of the crag and a leftwards sloping terrace that runs beneath the main crag, will be seen. 1) 20 metres left of where the ramp meets the Climbers’ Traverse, climb the open corner to a gap in the rock, then move up and right to a steep wall and bulging crack. Climb this to the top and belay on the terrace in the centre of the bay. 2) Step up onto a rightwards trending ramp leading to a steep corner. Climb this to an awkward step left onto a big ledge and belay. 3) An awkward step up and steep crack follow and lead to a strenuous pull over some wedged blocks and the top.
