Route Grade Votings

8m. The grade has been the cause of some controversy. Start up Persistence and follow the unbelievably-thin break rightwards with concentrated desperation. Pull up to the main break then bale out.
I dont think E4 7a does it justice. It is a set of solid 7a moves one after another and would stop most 7a leaders dead in thare tracks. It is also not that serious. Font 8a+/8b sounds about right and it still awaits a third ascent.
Well there you go James the E4 grade is obviously for it being sustained 7a rather than for it's seriousness =).
8a+/8b????????? i had a look at it 2 years ago.7c max
This was repeated by (at least) Paul Clark in the late 80s.
Not sure Paul did it (I'll call him and ask). Andy Brown (who has also done Punks in the Gym), did it about two months ago on his third try. He said something like 7C Yorkshire. It looked it!
Craig, you never 'phoned! It was in the mid 90's and worked on a toprope first. Does it count? No move harder than 6c, you are almost in balance in the middle of the traverse!
done it, 7c. 8b hahahahah.
What planet are you on James?
Give James a break, He will not know any better becuase of the people who he climbs with, Justin critchlow a fine example the king of overgrading and overhyping. Everything is english 7a that justin has done. Justin do you even have a clue how hard english 7a is, considering you have bouldered no harder than font 7c i very much doubt it, Like i said, James only gets this overgrading daft attitude from his climbing peers.
You obviously havent climbed with them then
Blimey - do you all live in Sheffield or something? Show some respect. Grading isn't exact and different bodies find different ways. Hence this database grade voting! Less whinging and more voting please.
Oh how things change!
