E1? never, easier than Finale, no more than an extended boulder problem and easily protectable with gear after the roof.
with a mat it is a bolder problem. i dont lead 6a but soloed this on sight. the roof is hard then simple steps up the smaller roofs.
Easier than Finale? You've got be joking - I walked up Finale without thinking about it, and still can't quite get this one! No mat, and no rope, but 6a seems right, and E1 would hence be roughly right.
Moves over roof ok (6a ish) with a bit of commitment. Helps to have a spotter. If you follow the original line care should be taken with the upper flakes. |
