20m. Another route with bold feel. From the mantel on the two previous routes trend right up the steeping wall to the break and a good rest in a shallow cave. Pull left out of this and sprint up the wall above. The route may contain a bolt runner above the roof, but it shouldn't really! USER COMMENTS
That bolt is the only reliable gear on the route. I got 2 wires in, but they fell out when taking in.
Excellent route indeed, an attractive combination of bold, balancy and then slightly strenuous climbing. Peenuts at the first crux and excellent cams at the break make the bolt entirely superfluous....chop.
i had to aid this on a toprope!!! the dyno for the large edge threw me out, but the finish, with the really cool slabby stretches, was cool!
dyno??
Good gear low down, above the bolt the gear leaves somehting to be desired and the moves on the top wall shouldnt be underestimated considering the position. Good route, requiring a steady head. THe bolt will probably break if someone takes a big winger on to it... But bomber cams 1 foot lower.
not sure about the comment about the bolt in the description. Did this route not used to contain two pegs above where the bolt is on the top wall as in the lancs rock picture? Surely with the lack of gear above and the now much lower gear (albeit a bolt) it is bolder then it used to be? |
