8m. The thin crack is protectable but a surprising struggle; fat fingers do not help at all. A proper gritstone HVS! USER COMMENTS
Desperate.
A knee-bar makes this alot easier
This route is far easier to solo than lead, errr but don't fall off!!
How can a route this short get you THAT pumped? Really strenuous but excellent.
The crux at half height is hard work, but if you are short (i'm 5'2"), you can get wedged in for a semi-rest to place gear.
Lots of gear, and relatively comfortable to place considering the awkwardness of the route. Another great grit route at this grade although the crux felt more like 5c to me. The only problem with the route is the problem with all grit, it's too damn short.
Excellent fun, but....bloody hard work!!!
...forgot to mention, the undercut at the top of the second niche brings welcome relief if you can find it.
short but action-packed. I reckon HVS 5b is right |
