This tall buttress is home to the classic struggle of Emerald Crack and the excellent face climb of Pearls. There are some easier cracks here, though these are generally both green and awkward!
Approach (see map on page 494) - Head right along a vague undulating track from below the High Step slab for 50m, or continue down the main track for 70m to locate a narrow path on the left that leads straight up to the buttress past a big boulder - overgrown in high summer.
