Erraid is stunning, providing a landscape of absolute serenity, golden granite and crystal-clear water. The island's southern bay houses the deep water solos, and goes by the name of David Balfour's Bay, after the character in Robert Louis Stevenson's novel 'Kidnapped', in which David Balfour finds himself shipwrecked on the isle. The routes are found on the north-east-facing side of the bay, and attract sunshine until about 9.30 am in the summer. The stunning Paradise Wall provides the main action, with the Otter Wall offering a few stylish extras.
