Tintagel's High Cliff is an extremely intimidating crag that rises straight out of the sea and is impossible to view in detail from the land. The three climbs described are all big and serious adventures, that involve multiple pitches of hard climbing on variable quality rock. The island is managed by English Heritage. The BMC have negotiated an access agreement as follows. If you wish to climb at Tintagel you must first write to English Heritage, Room 225, 25 Saville Row, London W1X 2BT (enclose a SAE for a quick reply). You should get a response about access to routes and sensitive areas. Guidebook page 168.
