SD 269979 675m. W Facing. This is the impressive expanse of broken ground on the west face of Coniston Old Man. It can be climbed in several places at little more than grade I but the terrain is interesting and it links in well with a circuit of Dow Crag and the Old Man. Approach from the Walna Scar Road Car Park at 289971 or if the road is blocked walk in from the centre of Coniston via Church Beck. Descent: Via the tourist track from the summit of Coniston Old Man.
