NY 323277 650m NE Facing. The altitude given is for the base of Sharp Edge. The traverse of Sharp Edge and Hallsfell Ridge gives a classic outing on the winter fells. A range of conditions can be encountered. Approach: Park at GR.348273 and ascend Mousthwaite comb before heading up scales beck which can give a bit of an icy scramble to Scales tarn and Sharp Edge. Descent: After descending Halls fell contour back to Doddick farm and join the A66.
