The big broken face above the Wasdale Screes. The gullies give some very high quality classic ice lines. Due to the low altitude of the crags and their latitude they rarely come into condition. A prolonged cold spell associated with a polar continental high pressure is needed to bring these routes into condition. Approach: The quickest approach is from footpath opposite Woodhow Farm NY 140043, where there is limited parking or from the YHA at Wasdale Hall a bit further down the road. Descent: Head up from the top of the routes and gain the main Whin Rigg footpath.
