SMALLDALE

Smalldale Quarry is a decent little venue with a couple of good walls developed for sport climbing - there is nothing of any significance here for the trad climber. The setting above a lorry park and brick factory isn't the best, but good climbing and occasional late afternoon sun can make it feel much more pleasant. The Main Wall has the best routes in the quarry with some excellent long pitches in the 6c to 7b range. The Crystal and Going Straight Walls offer routes at more friendly grades and are consequently quite popular.
