El Fumat is a huge north west-facing mountain crag perched high above the road on the Formentor peninsula. The crag has a small set of single-pitch routes on its lower walls which are dwarfed by the bulk of the mountain side itself. Sector Free Tibet has some intense pitches up a steep wall and through a long overhang at two-thirds height. Sector Duke is home to some superb long mid-grade routes that give magnificent climbing. The rock is very different from that normally found hereabouts and in humid conditions needs a bit of sun on it to give the best experience. The crag is passed on the way to Xon Xanquete and can be easily combined with a visit there or the nearby La Creveta.
