Carrock Fell gives excellent and extensive bouldering on a rough solid gabbro which is unique to this part of the Lakes. The Fell does not give up it's secrets easily, and although the obvious relatively accessible boulders have been a favourite local haunt for many years, a more exploratory mood in recent times has opened a wide range of excellent newer problems.
