The Bowderstone has been described as the premier single boulder in the northern hemisphere. This may be a slight exaggeration nowadays, but there’s no question that it has played a crucial role as a forcing ground for Lakes climbing. Good landings, steep and powerful problems, skin friendly holds and proximity to the road have all made the Bowderstone a 'must visit' destination.
