The Torquay area is full of DWS surprises, all found on the eastern side of Torbay, the huge bay which is Devon's busiest tourist-trap. But this is the strange thing: despite the crowds that infest Torquay's beaches, the climbing areas covered here represent the absolute antithesis of this. Try a little soloing any summer day down at London Bridge or Long Quarry Point and you will probably have the place to yourself. The worst case 'rush hour' scenario is the odd fisherman scrambling through the bizarre architecture of the region's small inlets and zawns.
