Writing a MiniGUIDE

How to CoverIf you are interested in documenting some climbing information for a new crag, your local crag, or a good holiday area, then you might consider writing your own MiniGUIDE. We have produced several MiniGUIDES in the past from keen authors who have produced their own PDFs which are now on the Rockfax web site. Before you get involved though it is worth knowing that there is a lot of work involved in producing MiniGUIDES and the returns are usually tiny. This has to be considered a labour of love otherwise you shouldn't bother starting the project in the first place. Contact us to discuss first before you get involved in too much work.

[Tipp (WI 5) Krokan Area, Rjukan, Norway., 5 kb]If you are still keen to proceed then we have prepared a document which is a basic guide to preparing the crag and route information, and to drawing topos, specifically for ROCKFAX MiniGUIDES although many of the techniques are general. This document doesn't cover the process of laying out and producing the MiniGUIDE on your computer in any great detail,. We can offer help with this although we cannot offer a full layout service whereby you supply us with photos and text and we put the MiniGUIDE together.
