Winspit Quarry has an excellent set of steep routes, across the grade range, mostly on positive square-cut holds and in-cuts. There is some friable rock but most of this is at the very top of the crags and is avoided by the placement of the lower-offs below this band. One of Winspit's greatest attractions is its micro-climate, this often means that climbing is possible here when conditions are poor elsewhere. Should the sea be rough and access dangerous to the main cliffs, Winspit is a good alternative, being set well back and sheltered from southerly gales. The style of the climbs ranges from some extremely steep roof routes to more intricate face climbing but metre for metre, the routes pack in the moves whatever their grade or style.
