Varied climbing starting up the slightly left-trending line on the lower wall and passing a tufa shield just above mid-height.

Possibly the best route on Portland. Such an enjoyable warm-up!

Super Fun!!
John - 08/Mar/00

Forgot my headtorch, but still nice.
spawny - 19/Mar/00

Okay, so here's one of my niggles.
More like 5+. Originally given 6a+?!.
Compare it to Never Drive....then decide.
Ben - 20/Mar/00

Ailsa did first ascent and said 5+ - don't know where this 6a+ has come from!
george - 20/Mar/00

Ah yes - i remember where the 6a+ grade came from - the sportland site - Guru Jim says it's 6a+ - too think you'd imagine a Scots team would grade it 6a+! pah
george - 20/Mar/00

Excellent route, long and positive holds. sweet!
Ron - 11/May/00

6a+ came from an OTE report. It's 3+ max.
Ben - 23/May/00

Hmmm- the grade...a tricky step up on small holds at around the 4th bolt, but that's about it really. I'd say 6a. Wasn't that impressed when I first did it (not long after the first ascent) but now it's cleaned up I agree - a 2* route.
Nic - 24/Jul/00

No Cannot be 3* or even 2*. Compare it with "Never Dive a Car". Nice scamble though. Worth 1* and has got to be low in the grade.
DAVE G - 27/Jul/01

I think 6a is ok, not high in the grade though. I thought it was worth 2 stars. Interestingly it seems to have more comments than any other route at Portland!
Al Evans - 19/Nov/01

Nice route, i enjoyed it, never mind about the grade.
Tom - 05/Apr/02

Andrew McLellan - 24/Jun/02

Good, but its certainly not the 'best route at Portland'
Al - 17/Apr/03

By the way, a new route just to the left, Paying It Forward is well worth doing too.
Al - 17/Apr/03

Agree with Al. Route to the left is also a pleasant 6a.
john alcock - 06/Oct/03

dwaffie and pay it forward bothe seem
good to go at 6a, no more, left again is
carlos fandango belay by moi goes at 6b,
poss 6b+ if you don't find several hidden holds,
hope you like it
nealh - 29/Sep/04

This is a good little route with a nice technical start, though slightly surpassed by the addition of Paying it Forward to the left.
Ben Stokes - 30/Sep/04

Climbed Paying it Forward this morning, the move between the 2nd and 3rd bolt felt more like some of the 6a+ routes about, the rest is nice though!
Alex - 27/Nov/04

Such a cool route! It flows.
