This climb takes the central line to the top with good moves finishing up a slanting crack. The start is tricky. A good alternative is to swing right and climb the headwall. Nut and block belays.

Difficult first moves lead quickly to good but unprotected holds although good protection is soon available. Its good - don't miss out !

I think this routes great, makes for a good solo, and one to on every visit.

interesting first 15 feet, a little lacking thereafter

Where's the gear on this? Couldn't find any. Top roped it, nice climbing - no gear.
severestu - 18/Apr/05

There is little gear on the initial wall, but plenty of gear thereafter. Pity the climbing eases so quickly.
Jason - 22/Jun/05

Well protected after the initial moves, good holds to place gear in a small slot after the starting moves.
Oli - 12/Sep/05

A very nive little route, lovely wire pacements up the crack
John Swain - 26/Mar/07

no gear for 10 feet, maybe one 4c move and then very straghtforward, albeit pleasant, and absolutely abundant gear all the way after the first 10 feet..
Wilbur - 26/Mar/07

Never been a 5a in its life. The first moves are unprotected but not difficult. Really don't know why it's 5a. Try 'Isis' at 4c which is much harder.
Mike Eldred - 12/Apr/07

Get right out of town! You can't say Isis is harder, you're not comparing like with like! This is an extended boulder problem with a couple of initial tricky moves that I personally would put at about 5a, whereas Isis is an impressive route with big holds in a scary situation, but technically no more than 4c. It's jug city man!
John Parker - 27/Feb/08

Sorry John, Isis is definately a harder route than BW, even if BW does have a (slightly) harder move.
Owen WG - 27/Feb/08

Sorry John, you can say Isis is harder than BW, cos it is. And by some margin.
Owen WG - 27/Feb/08

ah. 'you can say it's harder, cos it is'. flawless logic
John Parker - 28/Feb/08

I think I missed a "'t" from the can in the second attempt at posting my comment!
Owen WG - 05/Mar/08

Climbing's not 5a (it's easier), gear's a bit thin but better than Hangover. I wouldn't bother with this or Hangover again, the whole area feels like it's either gonna fall down on top of you or the lack of gear's gonna do you a mischief. Get to Subliminal and have a go at Freda.
Dave Foster - 22/Aug/08

First 2-3 moves are tricky, and no gear for about 10ft. After that the holds are all there and theres plenty of gear
