Set just in front of the main cliff is The Pontesford Needle. The climbing on The Needle is steep, fairly serious and provides the bulk of the harder routes at Pontesford Rocks. The Needle gets the morning sun but there is some lichen covered rock on the right.
Approach - Walk down to the base of The Needle from below the main cliff.
