A huge blob of gritstone which has four routes all named after their pioneers. The routes are well-rounded, difficult to protect and traditional sandbags. The routes are hard enough in sticky rubber, they must have been desperate in nailed boots! Maybe the old guys were good at poorly protected squirming up flared cracks and sloping ledges; obviously it's pretty much a lost art these days.
Approach - The Pagoda can be approached from either Crowden Clough or Jacob's Ladder. The latter is preferable if only because you can see the crag while walking. There is little to choose between them distance-wise.
