Largely neglected by climbers but very popular with boulderers, the Stride (or Mock Beggars' Hall as it is also known) has a nice selection of mainly ancient routes in a fantastic sylvan setting. It is a prime spot for chilling, picnicking, taking in the surroundings and doing a few routes. The fact that the twin pinnacles can be bagged adds something a little different to the venue. We have described a neat selection of routes here, enough to have a very pleasant day out in a superb corner of the Peak, especially if you manage Kaluza Klein! Bring the kids and a picnic, and make a decent day of it.
