AUSTRALIA

Australia is probably the largest single working in the Dinorwig Quarries, its general shape and feel is of a man-made glaciated cwm. High on the side of Elidir Fawr, this place can be quite cold, although the lower levels, in particular the Railtrack Slab, are sun-traps in the right conditions.
In the late noughties this area saw a boom in easy sport climbing and The Sidings is perhaps one of the best areas for low-grade clip-ups in the quarries, although there are many other routes in this area that cover the full spectrum of the Slate experience.
