Yorkshire Water have informed us that the car park and the embankment road at Rivelin Dam will remain closed to cars until LATE APRIL 2023, as repairs to the embankment are taking longer than expected.
There is some layby parking on the A57, but this may also be affected by works. Suggested alternative parking for Rivelin crag is small car park approx 1 mile east on Rails Road at Rivelin Valley conservation area. Note though that this also gets very busy on sunny evenings and weekends.
BMC area access reps are in contact with Yorkshire Water regarding when CP will reopen and whether it will continue to be closed and locked at 6pm over the summer. Will update here once I know more.
