Hi there,

Just starting climbing again after a far far too long layoff.

Heading away this weekend.

Any suggestions for good places to stay around Wye Valley/Chepstow area?

Ideally with a decent pub/food as it's my partners first 'climbing weekend'

TIA

No worries at all. You're definitely better to come this weekend. Next weekend there are three gigs at Chepstow Racecourse, Friday, Saturday and Sunday,  so all accommodation will be booked and traffic will be chaotic with road closures!

I love the Woolaston Inn. Very friendly and great curry. Only a few rooms, so really regretting posting this!

There's also the Beeches if you want to camp. It's a nice walk through the woods to a good food pub in Tintern

And. of course, the Rising Sun at Woodcroft is back in business after a decade of closure.  Modest bar meals until about 8ish.

I can't remember what it's called, but there's a pizzeria in Chepstow that does accommodation too, and was good the one time I stayed there.
