I was thinking the same, although it's only 48 years ago for me. What was I thinking? The ignorance of youth - we thought we knew what we were doing, but looking back we hadn't a clue.
The video is fantastic for demonstrating the illusion of foreshortening. The ridge goes on and on longer than expected. Then you get to the hut and think ok not far to the top. Then the ridge goes on and on.
The sweeping turn looking back down over the summit is vertigo-inducing.
Twenty years ago tomorrow. Thanks for sharing this - it sums up my experience perfectly, that damn ridge just goes on and on and on and on and on. And there's nowhere that would forgive a slip.
