Rained hard last night, so guessed the barn owls might pop out early this evening to make up for list feeding time due to the rain, which they did. Pity it was so gloomy and dark. Great for see them. Lots of redwings as well.

The recent winds from the SE have brought many redwings & fieldfares to our NE coast yesterday and today.

In reply to Billhook:

Good chance of some rare birds on the east, once the weather is settled enough to go out!  Waxwing been seen in Fife, and I’ve heard that bramblings have been spotted amongst redwing flocks - worth giving them a scan. Heavy rain forecast round here tomorrow, not as bad is up north though.

What lovely birds they are. Are they near home?

Don't forget, BC is an owl magnet 😁 - well he at least knows where his local Tawny & Barn owls hang out.

20 minutes walk away. There’s another pair about ten mins from this pair, but not been to see them for a while (the farmer ploughed a couple of what were permanently fallow fields, hope they’ve still got enough ‘volley’ hunting grounds left).

You’re lucky.
