We have been looking at an Easter rock trip to kalymnos this Easter, but it seems that getting there is going to be quite awkward with the lack of direct flights, does anyone have suggestions for alternative destinations?

we would like a good selection of single pitch sport routes in the 4-6c range, and a beach reasonably close by. I would prefer not to have to rent a car, but if that is the price we have to pay for having the right grade and beach combo, then so be it.

San Vito Lo Capo, Sicily.

You'd probably need a car though.

Is it really any different to "The Valley", "The Pass", or "The Ben"?

"The" Ben particularly grates.

No. Just as bad.

Geyikbayiri - Upper Tier

Geyikbayiri might be a good option! Flights to Antalya are pretty cheap and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area (see my other post from earlier in the week!).
The campsites/bunkhouses in the valley offer cheap car rental and can potentially even pick you up from the airport

Granted I’ve not actually been yet but the planning stage has gone well!

Advice carries virtually no weight until you have been to a place.

Portland. There’s even a book named after the local beach. What else do you need?

Finale has everything you want, and April is an absolutely ideal time to visit. You’ll need a car.

On second thoughts, it is not as bad as these "The Costa" would be the equivalent deliberately ambiguous (multibiguous?) Cliquey, excluding, "in crowd" sort of thing.

The one which really gets to me is "The County".

In reply to Robert Durran: The Gar or it’s derivative, The Gnar, presses my buttons but the ultimate is The Norries 🤣

In reply to Neil Morrison:

I once stumbled across "bluebird day primo connie's in the norries".

I still have not recovered.

Yes, that apostrophe is absolutely inexcusable. Truly shocking.

We have just had this issue, but decided to drive from NW England to Gatwick to fly as we already had a hotel booked. However, we nearly decided to go to Majorca instead.

Omis in Croatia might fit the bill. Flights to Split. Climbing looks good as do the beaches. Not been but I’ve done some research and am going in April.

Regarding Kalymnos, surely there are direct flights to Kos? Then a quick ferry crossing to Kalymnos.

In reply to Andy Chubb:

Usually there are return flights between Manchester and Kos (handy for the OP, and myself to be fair) but there are fewer this year and the ones that are there are way more expensive than usual. Hence the only vaguely normally priced flights out are from Gatwick - there are cheap enough flights back from Kos to Manchester though.
