Suspect the Cuillin Ridge traverse logs might have a few essays 😉.

That's a great bit of writing.

There's a whole bookshelf of them:

Superb.

I'm sure I've seen journal articles by one or both of that team?

Same author again (scroll to the very bottom)! Even I've done this one.

To anyone who, like me, enjoys SS's story-telling, may I recommend Grant Farquhar's fine book A' Chreag Dhearg, which contains much more of Simon Stewart's excellent prose.

Whoa! I was thinking surely he hasn't written something that detailed for everything, but it seems he has for quite a few at least.

Ah yes, good one that!

If you are, I'm missing it too.

In my usual clueless way I thought the "Literature Prize" was for amusing route names. So I put that one in. Sorry about that

It is a good name to be fair.

Think that suggestion was probably just for a good route name.

Wow. The rest of us can only aspire to such literary greatness.

That’s quite funny but I’m having a bit of a WTF moment. Perspective required. 🤣

In reply to Andy Moles:

Whilst not quite as poetic as SS, Paul Sagar has some rather excellent logbook entries, personal favourites being, The plum, astral stroll and king bee crack.

“Fell off for basically no reason.

”More exposed than a bulldog’s testicles.”

Some gems there. That said, there is a difference between an amusing or simply verbose description and a true work of art, which is well written and keeps you captivated till the end. This is what puts the author Andy chanced upon into a whole new league. Andy’s own climbing blogs are well worth a read as well.
