Late May for valles de trubia will be great in terms of temperature. You may catch, thougth, a bad spell of weather and have a lot of rain. There are, however, same places that you can still climb, but probably not in the grades you are looking for.

The other advantage of late May is that it is outside the main holiday season so less people. It may be a bit hot to climb in the sun if the weather is particularly hot, but if this happens you have a lot of areas with shade, at least some part of the day.

If you go be sure to visit Marabio, for climbing or just sightseeing day or night. It is a really nice place.

Have fun.

Valles de Trubia is Spanish climbing's best-kept secret - even most Spanish climbers we've met have never been! We visited in an unseasonably warm early October which I'm guessing will be similar to May, and we were mostly seeking out the sunny crags. There's a good mix of sun and shade so you can select your options if it turns out toasty.

We thought Teverga was the pick of the bunch - tonnes of climbing, gorgeous setting, and a really climber-friendly vibe (including designated van parking for a modest donation).

Quiros is also beautiful but the grading and style are both a bit more old-school. Put your ego to one side and you'll enjoy it!

Plenty more in the area and you've reminded me we're overdue a return visit. Cheers, Dom

It’s awesome. You won’t be disappointed. I was there in the and of May last year. Had most crags to ourselves.
Climbed everyday, there’s loads and loads in that grade range.
get the rocaverde Vol3a guidebook.

I went in April, temps were lovely but it was a little wet. Great area, fabulous rock, very beautiful. As others have said there are plenty of sun and shade options. It was also an hour’s drive from the airport so dead easy to reach, tho I did have to fly via Madrid which was a mild faff.
