Does anyone know of any cheap climbing/bouldering walls in East Lancashire which I could use on a pay as you go basis? I can't afford £30+ per session. Thanks, Peter

E.g., Onyx bouldering wall, Blackburn, seems to charge £32 per session payable by direct debit subscription, I'm not complaining it's just that I can't afford that much

Fear not, it’s £32 a month for concessions, not per visit which is a mere £9.50 for adults.

It’s a bit of a drive - I’m also East Lancs based (Rossendale) - but I have been heading to Rock Over in Bolton which is about £13.00 for an Adult Day Pass.

I think Onyx in Blackburn which recently opened is around £9.50 for an adult day pass though which could be a good option for you. Admittedly I haven’t managed to venture over there yet though.

Both have options for students/consession/rolling monthly passes which may alter the cost depending on your circumstances.

Onyx is really good, as usual Ian Vickers has done a cracking job and although it is small the space is optimised really well. 

£32 per month is really cheap!

Not sure what you think climbing walls run off but it's a business with overheads.

A few people have said that it’s a nice spot. It looks like a great venue from what I have seen on the photos online too.

I’ll definitely be heading over in the next few weeks!
