Mijas – El Chorro – parking changes and clean-up

The crags at the popular hillside tourist mecca of Mijas have had a bit of a clean-up in recent times. The base of the roadside crags are now much cleaner than they have been for a while, whilst the Ravine is far cleaner and has had a few new lines added along with some re-gearing.

Also the town council has now stopped non-resident traffic going through the centre of the village so it is now necessary to park in the village centre (mostly free parking) and walk through the main tourist street to the climbing area (4 minutes approach time). The benefit for climbers is that hardly any cars now drive up the road next to the first roadside sector making the spot much quieter.

  • Do you have any other updates for the El Chorro area as last year I noticed there were loads of new routes and the latest Rockfax didn’t have them in. The Dismplom area in particular?

At the moment we don’t have any detailed information although we are aware of some of the new developments.
