Today at lawrencefield our climbing backtrack was a group of people, occasionally in a circle, more often in their own spaces, dancing to whatever was in their headphones, whooping, wailing, drumming. 
 

it was exciting, intriguing and disturbing in equal measure; but what was it?

a local group, bank holiday primal special? 
 

id like to book on the next one, or take it up as my own personal hobby.

I’m not dissing them. Strange though it was to see, they looked like they were enjoying it.

Packing up our bags at Anglezarke today, we saw two people cycle past on a tandem, completely butt naked. The chafing doesn't bear thinking about!

Once near Kinder downfall saw a rather odd group in a circle praying away. Bit of research suggested it was the Aetherius Society.

Someone drilled a hole in the perimeter fence of the local Naturist Reserve.
The Police are looking into it.

Wrong time of year for that sort of thing.

Just guessing, but I'd say you probably saw an outdoors "silent disco".

Not my thing, but each to their own; it seems a lot more considerate than doing the same thing, but with music blaring through the woods, beaches, moors, or hills.
